What does it really mean to be alone, sick or poor? I asked myself this and many other questions while documenting the work of the Franciscans in the Ukraine. For the monks, poverty and disease is a common sight because they have decided to be with these people and to help them. The monk Rufino answered my questions and helped me to understand the motives behind his work.
