The Christian congregation of the Don Bosco Salesians was the first organization to provide aid after the disastrous hurricane Yolanda in November 2013. The hurricane claimed 6,340 victims and millions of people lost their homes. The Salesians utilized their network to build storm-proof shelters and used the fallen coconut palm trees as raw material for the construction of shelters.
